How much to travel agents typically cost?

I’m trying to plan a trip to Europe this Christmas. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to do all the planning by myself. I don’t have very much money, so I’m wondering if I can afford a travel agent or not.

    The airlines and call one.

    Don’t get a travel agent. You don’t need one. Save yourself money and do it yourself. Travel agents charge you @ $20 for booking airlines tickets. Which you can do yourself for free online. And they charge you for booking your hotel they just add it onto the cost of everything else. Go to Expedia.com or Orbitz.com.
