Any tips on traveling to Japan on my own?

I am planning to go to Tokyo for a week or so sometime during winter.
I’d be 16 at the time of the trip, and I’d stay either in a hotel, or at a homestay host’s house.

Any tips on traveling on my own?

I’ve traveled out of the country a few times with family, so I can manage at an airport, but one thing I’m also wondering is, do they usually have English speaking staff at airports? Because my Japanese is not great.

    also lots of stores, restaurants dont accept credit cards so make sure you carry cash!
